Thousands of shoes and bare feet have walked on, shuffled, danced… and consequently rubbed and shined the ancient floorboards of this once Town Hall in Elsah, Illinois.

Now a Museum for the Historic Elsah Foundation, the Museum floor holds the memories and energy of these river people, making their life and living off the Illinois, Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. The afternoon light touches these floorboards, highlighting their spirit.
